Hi,

Has anyone any advice on replacing the hard (metal) fuel lines that run from the fuel tank to the front of the car. There appears to be quite a few articles on replacing the soft (rubber) lines in the engine, but can't find anything on the other ones.

Thanks

George.

Hi George :)

The answer is dont !...by which I mean DONT use hard lines which are almost impossible to fit without dropping the rear axle...

Use SOFT lines.... you can get the same soft white fuel line that they use on later 996 and 997s etc...

Its brilliant stuff, I had a leak on the line from the tank in the twisty bloody near impossible place to get at and John Mitchel said no problem about dropping the rear axle and used the white stuff which threaded through all the nasty to get at places and then he joined it to the hard line roughly under the drivers seat with a special brass compression fitting...absolutely brilliant it was and only took around an hour including a cuppa.... with hard lines think 4 to 6 hours as a guess....

Its not really soft by the way, its a sort of hard thick white nylon/plastic line but flexible....

All the ebst Brett :)
