hello all,

have bought a new sunroof seal (2pieces) and want to fit it myself, is this adviseable or should I get someone that knows what there doing if you know what I mean

If it's anything like the one on the 968 it's relatively easy to fit. I replaced the outer one first, found that the sunroof still
leaked so replaced the inner one two weeks later and all's well now. Just get a good tool to cut the seal with because they
both have an inner metal core.

You need the sunroof in place but open with no seal & you feed the seal around it. You don't cut anything off! It's just the right length. When you get it right it fits. Secret is to get one the right spec from a good supplier like JMG. Some of them will never fit. There just cheap & nasty. Best done in the sunshine when the seal is more pliable. Fitting sealing strip in the well helps also so the seal has something to bite against (Not obscuring the drains.) Inner seal is the easy & cheap so you might as well. :)

just to let you know the sunroof has to come out of a 928 to fit the seal, bit of a tricky job

Yes it's a sliding roof on 928 so has to be disassembled. Isnt it a simpler pop up roof design on the 944/968 cars?
