Hi can anyone help out there ? i have a 1981 928 S auto which has not been on the road for about 5 years .I have had the car a year now. The engine is now running but the exhaust is to noisey to tune the engine and check other things . The reason its to loud is the rear exhaust box has several holes in it. Does anyone have an old rear exhaust box for this car . I have been looking on ebay and have tried all the top Porsche breakers in the UK with no joy. Also i can not get onto the 928.org web site anymore has this moved or is my computer playing up ?
The rear exhaust box has 2 x pipes in at the front and then the 2 x pipes come out the side of the box to the back of the car . The joint is towards the front of the car and just before the clamps is a smaller silencer. This is my 4th 928 (all the others were S4) this is my 1st S my friend was going to scrap it but i just could not let the car go that way. I will get this car back on the road, which i aim to do this year.
Thanks for taking the time to read .

Have you tried Paul Anderson at 928Spares (07816 668088) ? He may have one on one of the piles of dead 928s at his Stroud base, or else will know best where to locate one.
Also 928 International has various new and used rear boxes for various years, with a used one for 80-82 cars for $150.
