Hi Malcolm

Answering on Paul's behalf. Paul or I can provide you with my full address details off the list, for obvious reasons. I think Paul is planning to do this by mail as the event date gets closer.
Steve

You don't want the bl00dy Boxsters turning up, LOL
(And no, I don't blame you either!)

An excellent event!

Very informative & entertaining (I never thought I'd witness a 4 man freestyle bonnet adjustment!).

Ben

PS. I made it home the long way with petrol gauge still on R and still no light?

Hi Ben,

Yes we had a lot of cooks spoiling the broth of Derek's bonnet!

If George won bonnet alignment of the day then you walked away with underside of the day. Thought your S2 looks stunning.

If no fuel low light and you got home ok then it does sound like the gauge is misreading. The connection to fuel sender is under hatch carpet, and the workshop manual has a couple of simple tests to try on the connector of the sender to check that the gauge/warning light are behaving ok, and that the sender connectors are ok (but I think you said you cleaned the pins?).

If the gauge is fine then you can remove the fuel sender (channel lock pliers to undo the plastic cap) then disassemble the sender to verify that the float/wire mechanism is working ok.

If you want to leave it then would be a good job to tackle on any subsequent garage day.

I under-estimated how long things would take, so apologies to anyone disappointed that no work was done on their car. George's door card/speaker replacement, and Graham's vac actuator problems are just two on the "to do" list. Needn't be a full blown garage day to tackle jobs like this - could be a more ad hoc arrangement.

Really enjoyed the day - thanks especially to Steve for hosting, his wife for keeping the teas and coffees coming, his son for running the IT which gave everyone a good view of the flexplate release and his cockerel for making me glad I don't live in the countryside <g>.

Adrian

A rare thing indeed to see eight 928's parked up together and a good chance for owners to find out a lot about their cars.

Highlight for me was the flex plate demo - a simple fix to prevent a very destructive and costly disaster!

Many thanks to Steve & Adrian for organising and being the "Teccies" and to Steve & his wife for the hospitality.

Paul :D

Many thanks to everyone that turned up for the garage day 928 event. I hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as I did, it was great to see all the 928's lined up in the drive. We apprecited everyone taking the time out to attend as I know its a busy schedule this month for TIPEC.

Thanks Adrian for the Tech Support on the day and all the help with organising the day.

Thank you for the kind coments to my wife, Alex & Myself. We enjoyed having everyone around for the day.

I will try to post the links to the photo's & the video of the flexplate on Youtube

PS...Adrian......the cockerel enjoyed it too! :D

Cheers

Steve & Family
