:) As above really, I spotted a photo of a 928 on an American website and it had rear mudflaps fitted to it, I'm blowed if I can find the photo again, and I can't find a part number by searching google. Would anybody have a number for this part and also does anyone know if you can still buy these anywhere?
Thanks. :)

Hi,928GTSM,
This is Decasmo(Derek). I got Porscheshop to fit mudflaps to my S4 on 04/07/08 at a cost of £38.90 each £13.62 vat.
they had two in stock and got two from Germany. They have 928 indented into them, but I can't find a part number on the invioce.
Somebody told me they knock 8 mph off top speed but I haven't put this to the test!! Anyway, I am very pleased with them and am sure they look okay.
Sorry I can't be of more help, but I'm sure Mark at Porscheshop would help you find a set.
Regards, Derek.

:) Decasmo thanks for that, just need to try and find the right part for my car, on searching for the part numbers given for my car I come up with nothing, it's a 93 car and the nearest I could find on the PET for this was page 177 MG8 SG01 Wheel Cover??
Would anybody please be able to have a look and confirm that I'm looking at the right part? :)

Can confirm p/ns below bring up the mudflaps on Porsche database, but I don't have numbers for fitting kits or whether they are included. Best to ask parts man at OPC or follow Decasmo's suggestion:

Part numbers 928 559 383 02 and 928 559 384 02

The "wheel covers" on that pet page are the front splash shields for front wheel wells, nothing to do with mudflaps!

:) Stratfordshark, presumably I'm doing something wrong when I search the PDF file that I downloaded as it doesn't find those part numbers, also on the diagram that I referred to it definitely shows a line to the rear wheel arch? :)

Please have a look at discussion between me and 911perv earlier in this thread, concerning errors/omissions in later editions of PET. Explains why you can't find part using search.

:) I read your discussion re the ommitted parts numbers on the PET, doesn't matter how I cut it I still can't find these on the version I just downloaded for the 92-95 MY, clearly somputer illiteracy on my part. :(

It wasn't included in 95 pet. It was in 91 but only on diagram and not in the parts listing. It was included 83-86 on diagram and in listing.

PET can be iffy on more obscure parts.

If its not in PET for your year, its not meant for that year............simples

PET is fine but you have to know how to interpretate it otherwise you can make mistakes

Some parts were (snow chains, tow bar etc) thats why the picture is there

Basically Porsche say they wont fit cars after 1986 (even if you can get them to fit!)

You can get them from your OPC still, and as normal they are 20% cheaper than Porscheshop!!......

Can see that's probably case with GTS 911perv, but what about S4s up till 1991?

The 91 PET shows and labels the mudflaps on the diagram, but they just miss out that part in the text listing.

Decasmo's 928 is a 1991 also, and that has had mudflaps fitted with no problem.

So maybe the mudflaps are not meant to fit the 92-95 (GTS) cars? These cars do have a wider track and slightly different rear wheel arches.

I haven't bought from Porscheshop for a while, but was surprised to find Design911 were more than over 20% cheaper than OPC Bristol for Track rod ends today.

which can be seen on the forum at Mudflaps discussion area with blue turbo on

:( Ok, quick update, the parts I was looking at are indeed the right part (177 MG8 SG01 wheel cover) and yes they are still available that's the good news, basically these are the rear version of the small rubber lip you can see on the front of my car at the bottom front right hand sideImage.
The bad news is that on speaking to the parts guy at my local OPC they're £317.00 EACH! plus fitting kit!!! I've got a couple of other things I need to do first so they're going to have to wait until the end of next month at that price. :(

Dereks are proper mudflaps, not body mouldings the same as on the front spoiler of your car

:) Thanks, I appreciate that I wrongly assumed that they were just a short mud flap but they are actually listed as wheel covers, I presume to cover the part of the wheel that protrudes from the body. They were never fitted to UK cars apparently they were only fitted as standard on Japanese and Swiss market cars but are available to order. Just a personal opinion but if you see them I think they tidy up the look of the back end so I will be ordering some but there are a couple of other things I want to sort out first. :)

Hey I think I recognise the photo of your car.

Is it the manual GTS that was sold by someone like Bond St motors in Leicester?

Only recognise it because it was on sale for months, and I was puzzled why it took so long to sell.

Something is wrong with price quoted - when I input part number the price from Porsche database cames back as about £35 each, so am at loss as to how they get 10x that!
