More bad news about oil. Zinc Dithiophosphate i still do not believe oils can do the mileage that oil companies and vehicle manufacturers state so best thing change oil and filter more frequently.

Can I say oil seems to be one of the most confusing issues as everyone seems to have a completley different idea as to what to choose.

This extensive post here states:
http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/9 ... d-gts.html
Synthetic Oils .....
4 – For 32v engines a 5W-40 (or 10W-40) lubricant is a good all round choice
A 5W-40 HDEO can be used too
A 15W-50 should be the last choice
(Note that unless racing 10W-60 synthetic oils should NOT be used in your 928's engine)

While 928.org.uk indicates that Porsche only recommend 0w-40 or 5w-40
http://www.928.org.uk/news/99-articles/ ... e-928.html

No wonder there is so much debate!
