Sorry also to hear of the bad time you're having selling your 928. I would suggest that you advertise it on the forum but I found that for me selling my 944 by this method is a complete waste of time. :o :( Quite a few 'window shoppers' but nothing serious. But, then again, PistonHeads and AutoTrader haven't been a good thing either. Looks like my 944 will go into mothballs if I get to go overseas.

Ebay is a minefield and 'prospective buyers' who then back out have some weird and wonderful excuses as mentioned by others on this thread. I bought a set of alloys for a BMW (I'll wash my mouth out later) for a really unbelievable price. The seller contacted me after the close and told me that his garage had been broken into and the set of alloys stolen. I google mapped the address and he lives in a terrace block with no garages local to the area.

Hope it all works out well for you in the end though.

'Nil illegitimi carborundum' as they say!

Just a thought Lee it maybe worth running another advert in Pistonheads as it used to be a free ad with 3 photos.
I would certainly forget the timewaster and somebody who really wants the car will come up soon Im sure

Hi Alan, unfortunately PH stopped the free adverts. The guy I gave the second chance offer too the last time has phoned me, he works over seas so just got home. Looks like I'll continue with the offer to him, before I spend more money on eBay. I just can't believe it is this hard? When I buy a car, I make contact and communicate.

The car finally went with the second chance offer to a guy in Nottingham. Really nice guy and got the car for buttons in the end. I do feel ever so guilty, as the guy has now contacted me and said it has over heated, possible cylinder head gasket? To think, I nearly took her to Monaco 2 months ago. I hope it isn't the cylinder head and he gets it fixed easily. After I have built my garage round the back of the house, I'll start looking for a early manual one. :D

..., sorry to read of this Lee, even when it,s gone it,s biting you one way or another !

Quote-- Lee.., (I'll start looking for a early manual one.) A good choice, much more simple to work on, and less aggravation..., probably why Iv,e owned my 80, 5 speed 928S for twenty one years.., ( scary thought all those years ) :o
