I will try to do write-up for All Torque sometime if Tony is interested as I took photos (even if people don't want to do door stays, instructions for removing door cards relevant for a few other jobs).
I would like to see how to remove the door cards. The leather on top of the door card is all loose.
2 questions for Brett,
1 - What were you doing to it to make it snap in 2 places?
2 - Did you fit one? Or is it just the material that is crap? Do they actually work?
I think if I was going to do it, I would go the whole hog and fit new Porsche ones.

Hi

Its meant to fit into the door hole and slide over the top of the Porsche one..I suspect it jammed inside the door somewhere, you cannot see in there as you are meant to be able to fit this kit without removing the door card.
So when I went to close the door, it jammed and firstly bent the arrestor, then snapped into two pieces when I went to remove it...
Its total rubbish, both in materials and design, if it did fit properly you are meant to fit a plastic tie wrap around the middle to hold it to the Porsche arrestor, there is no way in the world that a plastic tie wrap could take the sort of pressures that a closing door creates...
When I have the time I will now fit the new genuine arrestors that Adrian fitted as did my brother on his 928 and they worked perfectly...
These kits are a waste of time and money, IF they were made of sprung high tensile steel, they "might" work, but as they are, total rubbish...
All the best Brett
