Hi,

My rear spoiler came off in my hands today, seems like some cowboy PO had stuck it on with black adhesive, turns out all four studs are sheared. Is it possible to replace the studs ?

There is one on ebay, but it also has a broken stud and he still wants £125.

Any ideas on how to fix it ?

Thanks

Not familiar with the 928 spoiler but stickaflex is the stuff. Comes in a few trade names. Tiger seals what I used on my bridge spoiler. (It is black adhesive!)

I was advised to use windscreen adhesive. Certainly stuck my fibreglass side trim pieces for my spoiler on solid when the other stuff didn't work to well. Ask a friendly Autoglass man when you see one.

That's a common problem with S4 spoilers, when they get old the studs either snap or the whole stud fixing mount pulls away. Best bet is to source a good second hand spoiler. £100-150.

Err thanks Dave for that timely response :D

...but I guess I should have followed up on this earlier, I did manage to repair mine, I drilled down the centre of the old studs and tapped out for M5 bolts, seems pretty solid now. A lot cheaper than a replacement too, just the £15 outlay on a tap and die set and a few s/s M5 bolts and washers.
