Sometimes my heater fan does not work on the lower speeds. I have to turn the knob to full and back to get it going, then it might stop again after a few minutes. I was wondering if it might be the fan speed resistor unit that is at fault.
Can anybody tell me where this is located?

On my 81 S the fan would blow on max all the time unless off, took the control resistor pack out from the middle of the heater tunnel just in front of the windscreen,2 screws, bent the tab so it wasn't touching the element and its been perfect since, was a bugger to get out though :x !Some take it out through the tunnel end by the fan but i made a slit in the plastic, popped it out and plastic welded it back once in,not the best way but worked for me.Good wright up with pic's on the Rennlist forum.
Had you thought it could be the control dial on the facia, you have different symtoms to mine, pop the fan control dial out and WD40 the pins on the back and see if that makes a difference, start with the easy option first

Hi :)

I dont think it will have a resistor as the switch has "notches" for speed 1,2,3 etc..... I think its the switch....try changing it first...

All the best Brett :)

Might be worth spraying some switch cleaner in and moving it about a bit in case the contacts are a bit manky?
