:) Yep same car, probably only took so long to sell due to the asking price but I specifically wanted a black manual GTS so I agreed a price with them, really nice people to deal with. I agreed to buy it a little while ago although I haven't actually picked it up yet, I'm doing that next week and I'm just planning what order to do things in. There's nothing structural or mechanical just tart's bit's, alarm, the stereo so it's got MP3 facility and unnecessary body mouldings!
I have to say I was bloody gob smacked when he told me the price but clearly there's one born every minute and I must have been the one on the minute in question.
Where do I find the Porsche database that your referring to please? :)

What kind of inspection did you give the car prior to sale?

:) The very best inspection as not recommended in the Essential Buyers Guide, it looked good so I bought it, unseen in the metal and untested!!! I paid a deposit and I've subsequently had a test drive in it and everything seemed fine, checked the electrical items etc., drove really nicely and comes with a very comprehensive history.
I know it goes against all the advice but it wasn't exactly as if I was flooded with options bearing in mind that it had to be a GTS, black and manual, if I've caught a cold that's a chance I've taken but hopefully I won't be disappointed. :)

Hey I think I recognise the photo of your car.

Is it the manual GTS that was sold by someone like Bond St motors in Leicester?

Only recognise it because it was on sale for months, and I was puzzled why it took so long to sell.

Something is wrong with price quoted - when I input part number the price from Porsche database cames back as about £35 each, so am at loss as to how they get 10x that!

Your doing it wrong again!

928GTSM is spot on with the info he lists, ie; Swiss & Japan market, £269 + vat each plus fitting kit (about £20)

On the 2009 Porsche price list 92855938402 and 92855938302 are 38 euro each (would be plus vat in UK) and listed as mud flaps.

Regards
Paul

:) There the ones, they appear to be a moulded extension to fit on the rear wheel arch so the wheel protrusion isn't quite so obvious, vain I know but I just think it tidy's it up a little bit. :)

Asked about inspection only because I was curious about what condition it was in.

If it drove well on test drive then that's as good a sign as you can get! These are immensely well built cars so unlikely to be nasty surprises, just a few deferred maintenance items perhaps. Also none of TBF worries that attach to autos.

There were only about 40 manual GTS in UK so as you say lucky to find your choice of colour at all.

Didn't realise there was a moulding for rear arches. Always learning new things about these cars!

Which TIPEC region are you in? This car has not been on the 928uk "radar" so would love to see it in metal at a Tipec or 928uk meet.

:) Stratfordshark, I didn't take any offence at you asking about the inspection, I went against all the best advice and bought the first one I saw, before I even saw the actual car! I asked Bond Street if they could email me some photgraphs of the car, other than the one you see here, and Andy Dorman there very kindly sent me lots of photo's including a very comprehensive history. The car is owned by one of their Directors and was put up for sale at a price that reflected it's condition (hopefully?) and rarity, as you say not many manual GTS's around, rather than for a quick sale. As with a lot of things it's only really worth what somebody is willing to pay and this fell within my budget, condition and history were more important to me than price.

The rear wheel arch mouldings look like this Image and I just think they make the back end look a little more tidy? Looks like I'll need to get them painted on top of the exorbitant cost of buying them! I'm not sure if those front wings are stock for the oversea's market or if they're aftermarket metal ones?:)
