Went for a spin and all seems "normal" now !
Maybe I'm getting paranoid about stuff stopping working now !

Hi Ade,

This Adrian business is bound to get confusing!

So aircon light comes on, in which case switch is connected. Is it simply the noise difference which makes you conclude the aircon is not working?

When you select aircon you'll hear the engine fans come on which is obvious when car is stationary at least.

I've now concluded that with the car stationery and door open
the engine noise was masking the air-con fan noise I was used to
hearing when the air-con kicks in. What a plonker !
A least it wasn't expensive !

Cruise control update:-
This company in the netherlands repairs cruise amplifiers
http://www.ecu-rc.com/ they want Euro 140 and you get a years warranty
I will probably give it a go.
Then after that the headlamp adjusters (from what I've read probably a lost cause ! ), radio (would never have in on anyhow ! )
& intermittent wipe adjuster (wish I had not found the knob ! ) .
Unless something else goes in the meantime of course....
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

I don't know how much you're sticking to originality, but if you're not 100% then you may want to search 'programable(sic) wiper relay' on Rennlist, might be cheaper and better than trying to fix the wheel, which isn't that user friendly anyway. I haven't actually done this mod, but it sounds worthwhile.
