That S4 for sale locally to me sold for only 2500 pounds.
Ok it had done 270000 miles but it had nearly 60000 pounds of reciepts including rebuilt engine 6000 and 4000 for the gearbox.
It had a SS sports exhaust, cross pipes and chips too.

What is the world coming too?

If youd told me before it sold I would have had that! Somebodys got a bargain. Too many muppets think that mileage is everything. They will pay top doller for cars that have been clocked. But an honest one with all the bills...............

I did mention it on the list about a week ago in a few different posts and in particular in reply to someone asking about buying an old S.

I first came across the car at York dragway. Chatted to the owner and found we lived 10 miles apart. Took a friend of mine to view the car but he felt it did not feel it felt fast. I pointed out that 928's often seemed 'relaxed drivers' but on the strip it had got similar times to my 250 Turbo S (the same guy holds my Rose in awe). Anyway he did not buy it. You can speak but you can't make people listen.

I am at present unemployed or I'd have bought it myself to keep the mileagedown on the Rose and GTS.

It looks like the buyer has a good deal. Good luck to them.. £2500 for a car of this type and age with this kind of money and service history.. they will probably be using the car for pleasure rather than re-sale..which is a good thing..and no doubt they will enjoy it.

Even if the engine explodes..you would get £1500 for the car as "scrap/parts". What other car can you buy that looks like this for this money..how much would it cost to rent an equiv type for a month?

Keep the car for a year..enjoy it.. the economy may pick up again..sell it and make £500+?

Its a no brainer...These cars are the bargain of the moment

How many 270000 mile cars would you dare take to the drag strip too?
