So the brake callipers on my 928 were looking in a bit of a sorry state. Looks like they started out like black then got hand painted some time ago and had flaked off and turned pink. With no time/desire to get them fully refurbished at the moment I picked up a can of red calliper paint and a paint brush from Halfords thinking what's the worst that can go wrong. I have to say I am absolutely amazed by the outcome. I didn't think brushed on paint would provide a good finish at all but the paint seems very easy to work with and flattens out to a smooth glossy surface before drying. Obviously I have painted these in situ so the backs aren't done but I can live with that. I don't of course know how long the finish will last either.

Here are some before after pics.

These look excellent Mike! With a bit of limbo dancing you could even do the other side, or just wait till dry and whip them off to paint other side?

Useful to know, as my black calipers are in overall very nice, glossy condition, but one caliper has a flake of black missing, so I could use your approach to touch up. Thanks
