I agree about the snap on solus scanner, can lead to more pain than gain ..they will not pin point the exact cause of no spark...they might ping up a dtc (diagnostic trouble code) for say the crank sensor but you need to eliminate things like high resistance in the connector at the sensor to wiring loom connector and all other basic electrical issues before you spend 70 pounds on a sensor because the scanner said so!!
If you get an auto electrician to come out, show him the correct scope traces for the crank and reference sensors on the bellhousing here :-
