Hello, I am after a new 944 2.7 I have my eye on one but the owner does not know when the belts etc were changed. The car is mint with 3 owners since 1989 does anyone know the cost of such work? Is the 2.7 better that the 2.5 8v? Cheers for any input Ewan |

Depending on where you go a good Indie will charge roughly between £350 and £500 to change the belts. The 2.7 is slightly more torquey than the 2.5 but it's also slightly heavier so in the real world there is not much difference. Buy on condition and not on a specific model, ie I would buy a good 2.5 over an average 2.7 |

Ewan, worth a look here at the buyers guide. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=5183 The 2.7 is pretty similar to the 2.5 so I wouldn't pay a premium for one. Some parts are also more aligned with the S2 3 litre & because of that are more expensive. This applies to things like water pumps. |
