Post subject: | How do i remove clutch housing? |
Hi Guys, anyone hav any experience removing the clutch housing? i went to do my engine swap a couple weeks ago only to realise that the internals to my cluthc housing are for a manual, and the internals of my other engine are auto, i need to transpalte the auto gubbin's onto my nice new shiny engine with manual gubbins on, any ideas? Naturally i didn't realise this until the engine was being lifted out, .... all had to go back ![]() ![]() |

I think 911 and Porsche World featured the clutch on the 944 a couple of months ago. I'll check and see if I can find the article. Otherwise someone smarter than me will point you in the right direction ![]() |

To remove the Clutch housing on the manual you need to remove the clutch fork. The clutch fork is held in by a 4 inch(ish) long rod. Undo the the lock bolt (10mm bolt head iirc), remove it then screw it into the threaded hole in the end of the rod. Grip the end of the bolt with some pliers and slide the rod out. You can then unbolt the clutch housing. If you cannot remove the clutch fork due to the rod being siezed, you can unbolt all the pressure plate bolts through the starter hole one at a time by turning the engine over by hand. |
