I'm a 928er but am helping a friend with his 968 Sport. We're looking at a performance exhaust system & light weight fly wheel and a clutch kit. Any ideas?

Yep we got Pro-Max down, they do an exhaust system, as do Hayward & Scott, has anyone fitted any of these, performance gains.?Seems on the US scene they reckon the lightweight fly wheel makes a noticeable difference. Makes sense to change it while the clutch is being changed. Has anyone fitted the Pro-Max chip, they say 20 odd bhp gains.

Light flywheel will help acceleration but at the expense of a smooth idle. I'd talk to Jon Mitchel first as I bet hes fitted one! (JMG)

Happy medium is 2 have you oem fly wheel lighten and blanced. There about 18-20lb and can come down 2 around 12lb a Ali ones are a round 6lb. But like jj said, speack with someone who's got 1st hand experience with it, as there's a lot off speculations 2 the gains vs stop start ability. And really light (6lb) can cas gear change problems.

Iv read an ail pressure plate can save the same amount off weight, but not cas the drivability problem? Iv no idea if ur get the same quicker revs?

Hi Guys, it's been a long time, but Jimbo finally wore his clutch out and had to bite the bullet. Basically we fitted a Sachs OEM clutch, cost about £400 quid & sourced a light weight flywheel from TTV engineering (UK based company, Chelmsford) for £350 trade. The new flywheel weighs about 6 kgs. The standard one must have been at least double that.

First impressions is the car drives nice, shifts great. Very slightly lumpy at low revs. But when you get on the throttle, it pics up real quick.

The car has been standing for a while, so we'll let you know how it goes. MOT tomorrow, then free flow exhaust cat back next week.
