Friend of mine has seen an S2 for sale but no bridge spoiler. Can these be fitted afterwards and are there likely to be any around? |

Only the last run, 1991, were fitted with the 968 style spoiler. U can but they can sell 4 quite abit. And everyones after them. Or u can fit an after Market one like I did, replica. Was ok, not perfect, this was the one from eBay, iv tryed them both, the hoop spoiler is shit, unless u paint matt black, ur need 2 paint the rubber sides, not good. The 968 style looked 2 be the same sold by the p shop. But the best iv seen is made by telecar. I did a write up on the firmer and there's pics. Shearch my tread posts. |

I would add, that after it's been sprayed the top deck isn't dead flat, can see small waves in it. Could always go over it with a flat sanding block, b4 painting 2 ensure it's as flat as poss. I would also sirggest filling it with expanding foam b4 u instool 2 stiffen it up. |

If you can afford it try and get a complete genuine 968 hatch with the spoiler already on from a breaker, then it's just an easy straight swap over and sell the old hatch to recoup some of the cost. |

Or you could chose the "content in the fact it didn't come out of the factory with one so what hell I'm going to spend the money at the pub" route ![]() |

I have a 91 S2 with a rubber spoiler rather than the bridge one think they came very late in 91 as mine is a November 91 car, so likely on 92 as last run out. I thought about swopping mine for one from a 968 but to be honest prefer the rubber one much more forgiving ideal place to lay my briefcase or lunch when getting my stuff together at work and much more forgiving when you shut the garage door down without putting the car fully inside. But I would agree if you must have one get an original late 944 or 968 one complete with the hatch then fitting is simple. Seen a few aftermarket ones and they look good if fitted properly and generally need a lot of tidying before they look as good as the original. |

I'd agree. My turbo has a bridge spoiler and I much prefer its looks but you do have to much more careful opening it in the garage etc. My old S had a rubber one. The rubber ones don't chip quite so easily. |

+1 Look better, not as hard wearing though and a PITA when they come loose and start squeaking! Add in potential hockey stick dramas and your rear hatch conundrum is complete! However, as my bridge and hockey sticks are now more secure than when they left the factory I will say they look miles better than the rubber item! ![]() Stuart |

Knowing my friend (collector of old scootters) he won't want a none Porsche spoiler. |
