Hello, After a summer of trouble free motoring following the new waterpump and belt change courtesy of Jim I am very happy with my 944. However, my love of all things Stuttgart has meant Ive just bought a 1971 Merc 250 CE to compliment it. She has just done 160 miles trouble free trip in one day, but I am keen to know what type of coolant she will use. Does anyone know, please, how to check coolant colour? Or what coolant this beast should have? thanks, Matt |

The VW/Audi pink stuff is very good gear for alloy engines, not too expensive, solid proper Merc by the sound of it, though i am a Munich man....check signature ! |

Not sure older cars should run long life unless the manufacturer has OK'd it. Have a look ata Merc forum Matt they should give you a guide. |
