Hi chaps

Looked on fleaBay recently and seen 944 wings going quite cheaply compared with the price of repairing my rusty ones and I need to know do all the 944 wings fit my S2 or are there differences between models?

Cheers Robmal

S2 and Turbo are the same. All the others will not fit - the difference is in front of the wheel arch where it meets the front bumper. So unfortunately, like the rest of us, you will have problems finding a decent S2 / Turbo wing.

Good luck with it though, and if you find a few let us all know.

No, turbo and s2 wings are the same. There the same as a n/a up 2 the point where they meet the bumper. Lucky the n/a has more area then s2 there 4 can be made 2 fit! It's really not that diffluct. I cut mine 2 fit with a dermal, as ur be getting the sprayed at a body shop they will do the work 4 you!

Iv heard this is done offeten as the n/a wings don't rot/rust so quick? Can say I belive that. But they are cheaper

You both said the same thing?
I'd do what Poprock done, it looked great on his car.

Hi,

Click the link to see Tony's done with the fibre glass wings.

Tony's car looks amazing with these fitted. I know he had a bit of bother getting the fit right but it was well worth the effort.

Thanks for a very comprehensive set of replies guys! Interesting to know that the wrong wings can be modded reasonably easily as well - its that sort of practical knowledge from people who have tried it that is so useful here.

Thanks to all! Rob

As I've somehow ended up sorting the rust on 2 944s this year my advice would be not to replace the whole wing but to get a patch repair done properly and keep your current wing. It's both the cheapest and the best solution. Getting the original wings off without damaging them is no easy task and any wing you replace it with is likely to have the beginnings of rust at the very least.

I've recently finished a long, drawn out and painful experience of having two fibreglass wings and a badge panel fitted. The time it took the body shop to get them to
a. fit and
b. look like metal rather than a dog rough weekend racer
would undoubtedly be more than anyone would ever want to spend on such a task. He is a fibreglass expert who works on TVRs day in day out and he has stated that he will never do it again. There are no panels of the right quality for a road car available at the moment.

+1 on that, iv also read storys off troble removing the under seal and coat. Which is stronger the panel!

But didn't you purchase N/A fibreglass wings for your Turbo, which explains why it took such an effort to get them to fit right? I agree that no fibreglass or pattern wing will ever look as good as an original Porsche one but the ones fitted to Tonys (Poprock) car were designed for an S2 or Turbo and are the best ones out there and look very good indeed.
