When I got my car back after an eight year break the first thing I did was to get the mechanics sorted (well most of them)
and then I sent it off to get the body work looked at. I would have liked to have had it fully re-sprayed but fixing the
mechanical problems proved to be a little more expensive than I'd imagined (twice us much as my worst estimate), so I just
had the essentials done to make it look respectable. The company that did it has just posted some photos of it on their website along.

A great improvement and the car deserves it. The pictures speak for themselves. My only question, thinking of getting this done on my 928, is how much should I budget for?

I'm lucky as I have a garage to keep it in and I don't have to drive it every day. There were a few things I learnt
from this experience.
1. Detailing will improve the look of your car and bring the lustre back to the paint but it won't
remove stone chips and they can stand out a little more. I overcame this by using black colour-
magic polish to disguise them.
2. You start to get a lot more fussy when it comes to cleaning the car.
- I no longer use sponges, but woolly mittens.
- I no longer us polish, the nanolex coating removes the need for that. Instead I use a detailing spray which
is much quicker and gives excellent results.
- I use micro fibre clothes to dry the car which are much faster than the old chamois leather.
- I wash my woolly mittens and microfibre clothes after I use them.
3. Seeing your car in bits gives you a good idea of it's conditions underneath, so one of the first things I did
was to remove the sill covers and hammerite the underside of the sills and inject Dynax S50 into them. Over
the winter period I'll remove the bumpers and attend to any difficult to reach sections. After seventeen years
there are a lot of rusty bolts and brackets.

I'm not sure if they mention the price of wheel refurbishment. Mine came to £240 for 4 and they did a wonderful job,
even managing to preserve the original crest on the wheel centre (sprayed around them).
