Am I right in thinking there should be just one cable eathed off the battery and one main power. While sorting my inside hacth light out. I noticed the door senser wire was joined 2 the switch wire,( two cables in 2 one spade connter ) this ment that the light switch would function one side only, 4 both on and when door was opened.

Found a few other cables runing 2 knowere, with the ends taped over and an inline fuse. Iv pulled the fuse and checked the emboliser, which still work.

So I'm thinking that maybe these were part off a sub system at some point? Or a muilt changer

I chased the cables back, looks like an old alarm system, with the main system removed, but the lights and speakers and sensors are still attached. So iv left in place. The light flashes in the rear 1/4 pannel i had always asumed this was part off the imboliser.

I think, and it was 20 years ago, that some after market alarms of that time would come on if the door opened. They used the door switch to activate them. But don't rely on that information Terry.

Could be old alarms, or stereos, or even mobile phone systems, 20+ years of owners and their toys add up to a lot of electrical additions to the standard car

It's deffently an old alarm, there's a small red light in the Corner off the rear 1/4 just above the speaker and a 25 mm speaker above that on each side. I thought they were dummies and the light was part off the imboliser. I disconnected it from the battery and the flashing light went out and the car could still be turned over. But as the 25 mm speakers would leave the hole that was made 4 them 2 fit in 2, and the flashing light may act as a deterrent . I left it all in.

There was another cable with lots off smaller wires inside which I'm guessing would off been 4 the sensor off some sort.

I think you should leave it alone too.

I haven't driven my Porsche for about 6 month ,today i want it to drive it and the battery is drain out, how can i boost it ? it wont even allow me to open the hood other trunk. My Porsche is a 2007 cayman .Please help me.

Not familiar with the Cayman but I believe inside the car you'll find a charging post that you can attach a charger to and that will allow you access to the rest of the car (as well as charge the battery of course).

Best place to check for the location of this post (I've heard of it on a 911 so assume a Cayman would have a similar arrangement) would be the owners handbook.
