Post subject:  Power steering fluid reservoir - Leak

Car is going very well.
I filled with 99 RoN tesco Momentum yesterday and the car runs infinatly better.

I noticed that the Power steering reservoir is leaking. After a long spirited drive it appears to be wet around the black bottle. Do the lids leak or is there a block in the system making it over flow like this?

They all do that !
the seal maybe dodgy on the cap, also the rubber hoses on the bottom of the reservoir split and leak, you can usually take the hose off and chopping the split section off usually the first 15mm after taking the fluid out of the reservoir by sucking it out using a empty washing up liquid bottle with some hose attached.
You would need to bleed the system afterwards by raising the front wheels engine running and top up the fluid whilst repeatedly turning lock to lock which will bleed the system.
Cheers Jim.

Thanks Frenchy - I will check the seal on the lid of the reservoir as the leak appears to be from the lid itself.
Can these be bought seperatley?

I would off thought they would go on the join/ seem in the middle. The lid has a hole in it for over flow, if it's that high up I would expect ur only notice it when it's full 2 the bream. Iv read somewere there's a built in filter in the revoure, so may not be abad I idea 2 change the whole thing.
