Post subject: | Tyres for 944 Turbo |
My car has 225/50/16 front and 245/45/16 back. Presently Pirelli P700 and P7000. They seem pretty good but are no longer available. I'm starting to consider which type of tyre to fit when I need to renew which will be next year. I don't want to get it wrong and be lumbered ![]() Anyone got any comments or advice. |

If you look up your last All Torque magazine and try these guys with your discount code, http://www.blackcircles.com/ I've never used them, but was told they were good buy some members up in Scotland. |

You are right: Not much is available in both the front and rear sizes. However, the Toyo T-1R is available in the correct speed rating in those sizes. Mine seem very decent. |

I have Toyo T1Rs on my S2 and they are great and are lasting really well with 11K miles and no real signs of wear, mine are 225/45/17 fronts and 255/40/17 rears. I know they are available in the speed rating but not sure about the 16" size but the widths should not be an issue. |

Thanks for your replies. The Toyo sounds worth a thought, especially as I've seen them recommended for track day use. The 'Blackcircles' website is well laid out and helpful. You put in the sizes and they tell you what is available. Much easier than trolling through spec lists for the individual manufacturers. There are Continental and Bridgestone options. Has anyone experience of these tyres on the 944? I've used Contisports on an Alfa GTV with great success in the past. Any input gratefully recieved. My 944 is very pampered and rarely even goes out in the rain, not least because I prefer to drive it with the hood down; so it'll take about 100 years to wear out the wrong tyres at my annual mileage!! ![]() |
