How much should I be looking at paying for re tensioning of the timing belt? (2k miles after change)

Is it a possible DIY job if the correct tools are purchased?

I think usually the re-tensioning is considered part of the price when having them changed or at least some of the people I have spoken to and myself included this was the case. I would have thought with the proper tools checking yourself is easy adjusting may be more complex but not too bad from what I have heard.

This is normally the case, should be checked 1-2000miles & also every 12000. Easy to do with a tensioner tool which is around £25
