Hi all,

I have stripped the front of the engine down ready to replace all the belts and oil seals etc. I want to inspect the timing chain and tensioner pads so I want to remove the cams. I have a workshop manual on the 968 which specifies I have to use 2 special clamps. Is this necessary or can I simply undo all the retaining clamps slowly to lift the cams uniformly.

I would apprecite advice from anyone who has done this themselves in a home workshop.

Thanks

Did mine by undoing half a turn at a time on each cap, dont forget the front housing/cap someone over on PCGB forgot to undo this as well and did some damage.

Are you replacing the chain while you are in there?
