While the cars up on the ramps iv got the mechanic 2 have a little look around. Found that the roll bar bracket has broke. Did think it wasn't so tight in the corners as it once was.
What's best replace both sides and bushes while it's off? Or upgrade 2 a bigger size. Seeing as this has failed. Not sure if it's failed due 2 stress or is it possible someone jacked the car up from it? There's a new hole in the floor beam near the jack point but not on it. So I'm thinking the spary shop may off done this when they had the wheels off. Iv always jacked up from the sirpenssion.

Looks like I need a new rack as well;( ow and my brake pad wear lights coming on. How much notice do you get ?

Racks can be rebuilt a for a lot less than replacement. It's just a ZF rack.
Roll bar brackets. If you meant the ends. Drop links. Do both sides & all the bushes. (Front right suffers from power steering leaks.) If you want to raise the rate theres a bracket that triangulates the front mounts & makes a big difference. Lindsey racing sell them & they are sometimes on ebay. Promax may have them also. My car turns in completely flat with them fitted. Holes in the floor a bit worrying. :(

Thanks jj

I don't think it's the floor pan, Will need 2 plate it up. but that beam that runs along. So I should look 4 a zf rack. Flat connering sounds good. What's the benift from such a stiff set up?

Just check service history and new rubbers and bushes were instool 33000 miles 28/08/03 7years ago

Quite common for the chassis rail one to break after the end bushes are changed, mine did this. It is crap design & I suspect the angled bracket fatiques & the stress of new bushes breaks 'em.

How much would I expect these brakets 2 cost? I'm not 2 sure which part I'm looking 4 as I didn't see it myself. If the bars off is it worth replacing the bushes again? I might order them things jj said about from linsdy racing as well as a short shift gear linkage as mine has worn, and is causing play.

Thanks everyone.

I had seen others saying that the anti-roll bar bracket had broken, so I fitted a set of these to stiffen them up and hopefully prevent it happening to mine.

Those are the brackets. Promax used to do them as well as Lindsey & SAR Classics (I think) on Ebay. The rack you get your own rebuilt by a power steering specialist. (Or get a cheap one off ebay & get that done if you don't want to be off the road a week.)
