Boxster seats will fit a 944 ! Iv fitted some 996 seats in my 944 today. Really not very diffluct. And iv got them 2 sit At the same height!. All done using the rails that come with the seats a drill and a grinder. I would quote about 4 hours following my guild, as you wouldn't need 2 put the seats in and out as many times as I did and work out how 2 get them 2 work. The rails on the boxster run along the top not the sides like a 944. But the rails are spaced the same width apart. 16", the holes at the front ( ones which were angled are the. Right width apart ) Are add some pics tmw. But the low down is this. Using a g clamp I bent the angled front tab flat but not flush with the base off the rails as the silder pins need 2 drop down and lock in. The boxster seat have a gas strut that rise the seat up and forward. This levels out the seat base so it flat rather then tilted back. In order 2 get the same seat Hight as 944, you need 2 remove this and cut/ grind off the mounting points. now the seats will close all the way down and not chach the floor prevent you from sliding back. The 944 floor has a small well, to take the depth off the motors and mecnass on the front of 944 seats. The boxster gas strust is fixed at the back off the seat and will get caught on the floor outside off the well. If you don't cut this off your seats will need spacing or packing up higher, This will be 2 high was 4 me and I'm 5.ft 10". Also need longer bolts. The mounting points in the floor are off set at the back. on one side it falls on a hole in the runner ( 3rd up from the fixed lug ) the next hits between the last two holes so u need 2 open up the two holes in 2 one. Now another handy thing off removing the gas strut is that u can lift the seat by hand higher, much higher then the strut ever did. Which make it easyer too fit the bolts back in. 6 came out but 4 went back in. Boxster had a lug which would acted like a bolt. But as this was removed. The seats have powered back tilt. I had 4 way power seat on the drivers side so I cut and joined the wires. Brown 2 brown and black/yellow 2 red. ( not red 2 red) I also split the feed by adding another cable and used that 2 power the passanges seat. But iv found a power point under the pasanger seat as well. So I will be using this now. You need 2 swap over the belt clips and your done. Got all the highest and widths. There pretty close. Boxster seat are a 80 mm taller b4 removal off gas strut, 40mm slimmer. Which Is handy as it gives anoth Room for the hand brake besides the electric switches, which arnt flush with the seat like on the 944. Weight. Boaster seat with gas strut 20kg. 19kg without 944 electric 22kg and non 18kg 944 seats are a much highe build quality. The boxster seat are hard plastic in areas and the padding is retained by a fabric base. rather then springs and I can see the padded coming away from the plastic buckets which contain the foam. |

Thats the story with the whole car. Why I'm still spending on a 944 when I could buy a Boxster for less! Opera also has a built in spell check that shows anything I get wrong on here instantly! |

You could, but do u really want a boxster? No dought there great 2 drive. But there not my thing. Cost can get quite sickening really, I think I'm up 2 4 time the car cost, and there really wasn't a lot wrong with it in the 1st place. I could off brought 4/5 off them By now. Still a few thing left then iv got 2 stop! Club sport wheel, leather re dye, suspension and 4 pot brakes. Then a few years later when i can put my hand in my pokect and not feel my leg! Ls engine swap. |
