Hi all just getting ready all my bits to one day complete my clutch change (89 944 lux). Does anybody know the correct order of the spacers on the pressure plate? What i'm not sure of is which side the star shaped one goes as there wasn't one on the old pressure plate thanks james |

Hi, I hope I've remembered this correctly. What you do is place the release bearing on the floor, put the star spacer on with the internal springs facing you and the outside is flush with the release bearing. Then put on the other spacers (I used two). Then put on the pressure plate (with the friction side facing you). Then put on the thick ring. Then, whilst kneeling on the edges of the pressure plate put on the snap ring. You may need to alter the number of spacers depending on the clearance for the snap ring. You will know if you have done it right by spinning the pressure plate while the assembly is still on the floor and it should move freely without any scraping noises. All the best, Andy. |
