Hi guys the car is a 1984 944 non turbo sometimes after driving for a few miles if the engine is stopped when i try to re start it the engine turns over really slowly and wont start .
But if i leave it for 15 or 20 mins it starts fine ,i wriggled the earth cables and it has not done it since but i dont think i have cured the problem as it does not happen every time sometimes the engine turns slowly until i release the key and turn it again then it strarts ok.
Could i have your thaughts on this please gents thanks Andy

Check all the earths etc. but I think it maybe a failing battery, but may not show up on a discharge test. I had this on a Granada would start fine from syone cold on the coldest day but stop when hot in a petrol station & it wouldn't turn fast enough to start.

As a wild card, it might be worth having a look at the ignition switch and its associated wiring to make sure nothing is arcing and/or getting very hot while the engine is running, which then settles down when it's all colled off. Mate of mine had something similar recently on another type of car altogether, and that's what it turned out to be.
