Could be the sliver coating from the 3 main refecltours under the instrument cluster. My glass cracked, so I replace with a second hand uint and swapped over the clocks, also put some blue LCD lights in, which weren't very bright. So I pull it back out and noticed the clover coating was worse then ones with the cracked glass. Tryed a few things 2 get relfection back, sprayed the backs with Crome paint. ThAt didn't really help much. So I drilled in 2 the plastic lugs a 1mm or 2mm 2 free the old ones and swap, but once out you could see how bad the middles had become from the tips. Using astone I removed the existing sliver coating from the middle leaving the ends as this was wereI was going 2 fix the foil 2 with gule. So using inside off a crips packet ( as this was sinnyer then tin fiol. I guled the cut out packet 2 the outside each relector. Then covered with clear tape and more foil, then black duck tap 2 stop any light leak out under the dash. There brighter but still dull competed 2 White light that were there b4. So I'm going 2 swap them over again tmw. |

This ones been done to death. The perspex degrades with time & no longer transmits light. You can either remove the widgets & replace them or just put bigger LED's in. There are plenty of high power LEDs available now. Somebody on ebay us making new ones using casting resin. Got them in mine & there bright. |

Try these.......... http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Mod ... 18015#spec The strip fits pretty much perfectly into the grove where the reflectors are infront of the gauges. They come in a strip all joined together and you'll need 4 or 5 of them. I've taken the centre reflector out and wired it straight into the bulb holder. I fed the wires through from the back of the strip and soldered them to the printed curcuit. The self adhesive just sticks to the front of the other 2 reflectors. They are very bright though and another guy in the region who's done the same has put a resistor in line to dim them a little. |

Ow, I thought they were driving glasses, cheers guys. But iv had anoth off pulling the dash in and out. Think r just stick my normal bulbs back. Think the packet idea will work ok with white light. Read some were it's bad 2 have ur dash 2 bright as it takes longer 4 ur eyes 2 re adjust 2 the road. Jj iv also seen damaged caused from using 2 high wattage, were it's melted the bulb housing and board. |
