My S2 has just displayed a new annoying fault to continue to wind me up.

For 23 years the door handle has presumab;y worked faultlessly Yesterday the drivers inner door handle decided to stick on the door card covering and not return fully. Consequently when I get out and slam the door the door just bounces back open off the striker plate Grrrrrr :x

Very uncool when you pull up outside the local Co-op with an admiring audience. !.........Almost on par with trying to start the car for 2 minutes with an audience only to realise that you forgot to activate the immobiliser doh!

Last month it was the driver side speaker cover falling off every time I got out the car. I seemed to catch it with my big feet . Sorted that with copious amounts of hot glue and swearing.

I don't think its the return spring Jim but rather the leading edge of the handle is catching on a tiny bit of the vynal door card covering  I'm going to have to pull the plastic cover off and see to it before I break it !

Loosen the screw off behind the handle & try tweaking the escitcheon back & forth?

Clatter some cavity wax in there if you have the door panel off, the doorhandle on my 2320 was as stiff as flip when i first got it, sometimes a 2 handed job....................not cool !
A good coating internally with spray on lube made it nice again.

+1. That would have been my suggestion but Jim beat me to it.

today i could stand it no longer so I fixed it.

You can see the little bit of vynal that is jamming the pull-handle.

There are two ways to tackle this job.
1. remove door handle, arm rest, mirror adjust ,door card . Glue back the vynal and re-instate everything. Allow glue to dry .... 2 hours tops

2. cut the piece of vynal with some scissors and go and have a beer ..2 minutes

which repair method do you think won ?
