has any one fitted powerflex bushes ????

as i looked at the bushes on the anti rollbar on the front and they looked a little tied, so time for an upgrade. so ordered the bushes for my car 1984 944. the inner ones are fine but the outer on the wishbones are nothink like they list for a start off they are round ones, on my car they are round with a flat bottom. so this week i have been on the phone trying to sort it.
just wondered if anyone else had come across this? :D

Hi Ryan,

I changed the frt ARB bushes (see pic with ruler, old bush)

Fitted powerflex ones and also changed the drop link bushes, pressed them in and used coppa slip to help ease them in ! (see pic of old set up)

I had some drop links made up at work as the o/s was sheared off a the stud (common problem apparently), obviously it made a huge difference as the old ones we shot.

I intend to change the wishbone ones at the same time fit the 968 castor mounts.

Hope this helps

Cheers

I fitted the full front end kit from powerflex to an 82 lux although a pain in the arse the fit was good. IIRC The shapes should be the same.

Ok, mine has the later ally ones and i think the 17" cup1's (mich pilots 225's) are hard on the ball joints (i get an occasional "graunch" ) when parking on a LH lock,,,, its difficult to pin piont exactly where its coming from but you "feel" it momentarily thro the str wheel, which makes me think its one of the ball joints that are dry, i may be a mile out ...its doesn't always do it though any thoughts on how track it down better ?

cheers

Had that sort of noise on my old 82 was the ball joint but cheap fix, i dread that on my 89 due to much more pricey part. best of luck.

I think ryan prob has the kit for the later car as the 84 should have steel arms and the end rubbers are flat

Hi Derrick - how you doing?

I went down the Hartech route - I think they are generally recognised as the best aftermarket.

Yeah M030 and 18 inch wheels. The ride is hard to say the least but as its not my daily driver I can handle it. In saying that I have just had the original forged wheels refurbed with new Toyo Proxes so I might well be going back to them.
