i recently got a 70 000 mile full history 944 turbo that has been lying for around 5 years. after inspecting it i believe the engine is now seized. any advice about unseizing it ? is it possible ? will it likely have damaged the bores beond use ? any advice welcome |

Ask Alasdair, he has one that he says it looks like a cheese grater went down the bores. Take the head off and have a look inside, what's the worst that can happen? You can get them bored out and lined, however you could possibly buy a boxster for that price. |

i have a spare 2.5na block in good condition, if i built this up with the turbo internal components and turbo head would 2.5na block be up to the job ? is there any difference in the gaskets between the standard block and the turbo block ? |

Sorry Roy, I've never had the head off mine. The head needs to come off the turbo either way, so you could try it. http://forums.tipec.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=8367&p=49082#p49082 Tony put this up before, scroll down to the picture, looks like there is no block used in the upgrade but I don't know for sure. |

well took out spark plugs and added some engine oil to the cylinders. left it over night and it free'd up this morning easily with little effort. now turns over sweet and conpression seems good. it was a bargain after all. |
