well iv found a bolt trapped in the seat tilt meachnism, which pervents the seat takeing the sun loungers prosistion. so i removed the plastic cover and found pure white leather. i think some one in the past has dyed my seats instead off cleaning them, there wernt really clean 13000 miles ago, but the useage has showen, every time iv tryed 2 wash them it removes the coulor and they look worse. only problem is the seats are drying out and could do with some feed.

That might just be 20 years of use and wear. Real leather develops over time. It does look pretty drastic though. |

I use Autoglm Leather care as a moisterizer for seats, and try and shade the car when it's hot. There's a few thread here from others who have used seat dye, which seems to work okay. search.php?keywords=dye&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search viewtopic.php?f=25&t=8142&hilit=dye |

I use auto gylm products 1st, then tryed some other leather cream and then simozns which turned it green! Any leather cleaner seems 2 strip the colour away, the only thing I can think is they been dyed over the top and cleaning is removing both the dye and base colour, this area shown is a good place 2 check 4 couple fast test. |

You haven't tried Gliptone yet then. It's the best. Shows how you can't go to a scrapyard & buy a new seat back that will match. Some cars have been in a dark garage. Some in the sun. Some have been smoked in. Etc. There all different now after 20+ years of different environments. Just stitched mine. At least it's the right colour. ![]() ![]() |

The light colour looks like light grey (same as my 968) which is almost white and often gets confused with linen and is only really easy to spot when you see them together. Are you sure that your car should have a linen interior and not light grey? The seats may have been replaced at some point in the cars life too. |

Hi T3rra, I've recently had my seats re-connollised/sprayed due to cracking and wear and so far I've been really pleased with the results. Here are a couple of before and after shots. I would like to do my seats, linen leather. If gliptone is a nightmare, who would you suggest? Not looking to debate, just want your opinion. |

The trim code is either VA or UA (depends how you look at it) on the data sticker, but I think that it will probably be different for the 944 as the shade is different. |

I havent got leather in my Porsche but I used Woolies treatment in an old Rover I used to have and it was brilliant.First a cleaner, then a leather food and it was like new,you keep applying the leather food at maybe 6 month intervals .The missus said it was quite easy to do! ![]() |
