Hello all

Not the most life changing of threads this one, but, over the weekend picked up some Simoniz Colour Polish in "light red" for my 944S.

All it cost was 3.99 and I cannot rate the product highly enough - really lifted the vibrancy of the paint finish, brought back to life some of the slightly faded/pink areas of paint work and was really easy to use and didn't leave any nasty bits of red residue over the black seals and trim etc.

Couldn't ask for more - great product at a modest price... worth giving a try.

I used to own a Pink (Guards Red 924S) and the coloured polish worked well but it only lasted about two weeks then ot would fade even more, so I hope yours lasts longer.

I tried it on mine, but found that stained my hands red, and this stain seemed to last longer on my hands than on the car

Now you mention it, my finger nails are still outlined in red from the weekend's efforts.

Oh well, if the improvement to the car's finish only lasts a few weeks, then I'll just give it another go with the polish in a few week's time - I still think it's pretty good value for only four quid a bottle.

Treated a very poorly pink/red mk1 golf gti that came in px years ago to a bottle of baby oil for a quick fix shine to get it through the auction. Pity the poor sod that bought that and woke up the next day after rain

Red will keep losing the shine unless it's done properly, ask around for recommendations for your local detailing guys, good investment and you'll spend an hour or so less every couple of weeks polishing which means more driving time :bounce:

Guilty of being born into the car trade, thankfully been out of that for a good 15 years now it's a horrible industry at all levels. Oddly though by twist of fate at the time I became a photographer and used to sell work to Paul Raymond so maybe there was a connection between dull paint, baby oil and Mayfair
