Just been to Germany for the weekend & noticed a wheel wobble ar 80-90 mph, so took the car (944 S2 Cabrio) into a wheel shop with my German coleague to have the wheel balance checked. Being German they didnt just take the wheels off & balance them, they checked out the front end & in the written report (!) noted n/s lower ball joint slight play, o/s TRE & wheel bearing slight play! Oh dear, MOT looming! :( Anyway car went much smoother on the way back (saw 125 plus for long stretches with the hood up :D ) & over the weekend 1100 miles at 34mpg!!
Any comments on ball joint kits? Easy to fit? Do they work, or is it wishbone time??

Welcome David.

Forum seems to favor Hartech replacement wishbones with new Ball joint pressed in.

German MOTs or TuVs are far more strict than a UK MOT. Might be worth seeing if it fails over here prior to forking out?

True enough about MOT's, but this was simply a wheel /tyre shop & I looked underneath & saw the (OK small) movement! Not like my first Austin Seven where all the joints fitted where they touched!
It will have to be done sooner or later, so better sooner. I'll look up Hartech (sounds expensive.)
