Thinking of getting a new project and selling the 968. For those interested here's a few pics of the car when I bought it through to today with the work in between.

Image

New Waterpump, belts, rollers, cam chain and slipper pads – cams inspected.
Image

Found some M030 calipers, refurbished and powder coated. Goodridge hoses. New disks. ATE racing blue.
Image

Spax RSX suspension kit, new uprated castor mounts, wheel alignment at Promax.
Image

Refurbished Veloce wheels fitted, New Falkens and front splitter.

So what next? May be 964 or 968 with LS2 engine.

Fantastic looking car. Were all mad. Spend ages sorting, fettling & getting the pride & joy just right. Then sell it & start again. Not sure I'd want to part with that one.:blackeye:

Looks very nice, want to swap for a 08 TDI Jetta?

Go for the LS engine install over the 964. It'll keep you busy for longer and you'll end up with something very individual.

Go for the V8 conversion Richy. Loads of people talk about it, it's time someone did it 8)

You do seem to get through Porkers quite quickly though - how fickle :D

Rich,
What made you go for the Spax struts rather than Gaz or KW?

Its a road car only - dont need coilovers at the back + a price of £510.

Huge difference over 17 year old tired suspension.

How do you rate the Spax?? I want adjustable spring platforms to lower the front to match the back. But don't want to spend the earth. Are they easy to set up? How much negative camber can you get without going to adjustable top mounts??? Next job on mine is suspension.

I am really impressed with the Spax set up. Quality is good, powder coated, stainless thread for the spring mounts. The back is a little soft which is being addressed by Spax - took the car down there last week and they are redesigning the rear shock after taking lots of measurements, weights and offsets. Adjustable damping and rebound.
The ride is excellent, the car had a wheel alignment at Promax so if you want an independent view speak to Anthony their technician - he was very positive about them.
