Post subject:  Hip Op done and 944 fixed too...
Hello All,

As some of you were aware, I was awaiting a hip operation after 2 long years of gradually losing my ability to walk. Eventually on May 15th I had to stop work and driving my precious 944... So, the weekend just before my operation (10th/11th July) I got my mate insured to drive my 944, temporarily putting him on my insurance as a named driver (for no extra premium, I may add. Richardson Hoskens Specialist Car Insurance are who I am insured with). My mate went to start the car, and, for the first time in 5 years, it wouldn't start! I was bloomin gutted.. It turned out that the Crank Sensors had gone and now have had them replaced, and myself has had a nice hip resurfacing and am now sporting a very swollen leg and am high as a kite on painkillers!

Looking forward to getting back to the swing of things and showing the 944 at lots more shows, and I DEFINITELY want to make Gaydon in 2011, maybe even do the Prescott Hill Climb - neither of which I have been to before...

good on ya Baz :wink: Sorry to hear about you needing an Op but it'll be better than new soon.

Your friend might have made the mistake of giving her lots of throttle to start .? Good idea though to go for a drive :roll:
When my back went 5 years ago I thought I would never walk again so I sold my 944S2 and classic motorbike. :(

Wonder if the 944 has ever been converted to hands only contols?

I take it we won't be seeing you at the Whipping Stocks tomorrow night then Baz.

Glad your fixed up. Hope to make the show wherever it is next year myself. Been all day on the dyno & still got issues. :banghead: Maybe meet up next years show??? Since we all missed out this year. :(

Er.. no I won't be at the Stocks tomorrow! Should be up there again in the future, though it won't be every month, as I have started attending the Central Region Meets too.. See you soon.. regards to all at the Stocks and enjoy your meet tomorrow..

Glad to hear about the OP being OK. Crank sensors after 5 years seem to be a recurring line at the mo, I'm sure that is why Paul's didn't go to France.

Hi... It's looking likely to be about the beginning of September, so I'm going to push to come to the meet in that month. Fingers crossed!!
