Post subject:  Resurrection Project

2.5 years ago a combination of high fuel prices (HAH! It was only about £1.10 a litre then), an imminent MoT failure and a small child forced the reluctant early retirement of my much loved 924. A realisation that fuel price isn't the end of the world and that paying money out on a shed that I don't give a £"%$ about as opposed to paying a bit to keep a car that I REALLY like means that she's seen the light of day for the first time in too long.

She's a bit dusty, full of cobwebs and the paints dull.

So stage one - the local specialist has been round. She won't start (specialist reckons ful pump, I think old fuel) but she's thinking about it. So she'll go on a trailer to his workshop and a to-do list will be written out. Start with the musts and gradually work down to the "would be nice".

The first step on a longish journey I think. But I can't wait.

Good luck getting her up and running. There are a lot less 924 around these days so it's good to see one heading back to the road. I think if you have a car that you are happy with then it is worth spending a bit of money on. It's better than buying a car that you don't like only to watch it's value depreciate. And is it just me or are 924 prices starting to edge up a bit? Would be good to get some pictures up and let us see what you are starting out with.

What was it going to fail the MOT on?

Good luck, I loved my 924, it was a great car to work on.

Glad to hear you are resurrecting it. Would be oh so easy to scrap it & get another & reduce the pool of 924s' by 1. Good luck with the project & keep us posted.

My family all point & laugh at my old Porsche which always seems to be needing some work. Despite them spending 3K a year in depreciation that doesn't mean anything as there hairdryers can do 70mpg. And wear themselves out completely in under two years. Welcome to the saner side of madness. See you have a Tipec membership. A good idea in your position. All the best on getting it back on the road. Sure the paint will polish up beautifully. Ben may be a bit jealous of your MOT but he will get over it.

Great to read that another 924 is going to be saved from decay.

Every mile will put a broad smile on your face :)

If you have any questions feel free to ask.
