I managed to win a tool kit on Ebay for my 944 turbo for £17 posted. I was quite chuffed. I was only after the towing eye really, but saw this tool kit for £17 Buy it now, so took a punt.

It has arrived today and has a few parts in that i cant work out.

The parts are also quite rusty, how would i spruce these up? Is it ok to emery paper them down and then drench in WD40 or such like to stop them rusting again. I'm not after concourse, but usable.

How many parts should there be in the original kit?

I have:

Pliers (that are seized shut).
Towing eye.
Large alen key.
Tool for opening the wheel nuts.
What looks like a very deep socket.
and a socket with a large spring around it.

I have a plastic milk bottle with the top cut off - filled with ordinary engine oil. I throw rusty bolts, screws, hinges and whatever in that and leave them to soak for a few days. I wouldn't emery cloth them rub over with some wire wool after soaking. They probably won't rust if kept dry afterwards. You can coat them with a water based clear laquer to prevent air getting to the surface.

Sorry, I can't tell you what they are for....

One of the wrenches operates the sunroof manually if it fails.

To clean them you need Deox-c from Bilt Hamber, brilliant stuff as are all their products.
