I replaced both my cogs last friday, the drivers side was striped out on the small side. Replaced them both dipped them in some vassalin, and lined them both up evenly, now my right side has striped out. Roof worked fine after my repire. But the spray shop has had the car back 2 refurb the rear wheels after some anmiLs changed the tires, and spray the sun roof with the seal off! Last time they didn't remove seal. Anyway I'm sure I done it right, here's the processe.

Remove both cogs, roof off wind the motor all the way 2 shut prostion.
Replace cogs with the arms all the way In, prostion off removed sun roof.
I did use some Vaseline as a lubractent. Was this a mistake?

Many thanks

Hi t3rra,

If you've got a copy of All Torque Issue 77, pages 20 and 21 go into great detail about the operations of the sunroof and repairing them. If you don't have a copy, click the link below.

http://issuu.com/tipec/docs/all-torque-77-issuu/21

Unfortunately, the sunroofs are very complicated for what they are. I service and repair anaesthetic machines for my living and they are less complicated than the 944 sunroof! It sounds like something isn't quite aligned causing the cogs to strip after replacement. I hope you find the article useful.

Ben
