HI All,

My 944 has the LED door pulls as part of the alarm system - but I'm not sure as to what they should do?
At present, whether the car is locked or unlocked, the red leds stay lit all the time. I think i have read that they should flash when the alarm is armed? Shoudl they be on all the time? Battery drain? Can someone advise me on what the correct procedure is?
Thanks Ed

Hi Ed,

To answer your question, yes the LED's should flash on and off when the car is locked. I'll have a scout around on the forum. I'm positive someone had this problem recently and solved it by just fitting a flashing LED from RS or something to cure the problem. I'll post the link if I can find it.

Mine door lock LEDs and the immobiliser flash on and off continuously when the doors are locked and I have left the car for weeks like this and no issue with battery drain.

They should be off when doors are unlocked and flash when the doors are locked. This seems to be independant of alarm/immobiliser function. The flash is activated by the door being in locked position, not the alarm although they usually coincide.

I've not worked out the solid LED ones as they didn't apply to me, but I'm fairly sure there will be circuitry elsewhere which causes them to flash. They are definately activated by the door being in locked position too as I found out when I fitted one.

Battery drain is not an issue as already stated. I have left my car 3 weeks with alarm on and LED's flashing and it started no bother.

Thanks for the replies.
I clearly have a fault as my LEDs are on all the time, doors locked or unlocked.
If they work off the doors being closed (via central locking mechanism?) rather than the alarm system per se (which does work as i found out today!)- I'll have a look there for a fault (in the doors)...

Thanks
Ed
