As Steve reported, http://forums.tipec.net/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=8643, I rather nervously drove away one of his 944's last night.

I was delayed getting there so the first experience of driving a 944 on my own was in the dark with torrential rain: should have checked which switch was for the rear wiper :( before I set off but at least the main wipers and lights worked OK...so that's a bonus!

Unsure of the steering lock and paranoid about hitting something, it took me a 10 point turn to reverse into the garage but daylight and a 40 minute run this morning have replaced nervousness with a big grin.

Looks as though the only mistake so far was not taking up the 2 year membership offer at Gaydon on Sunday but there again....three days ago I didn't know I was going to become a Porsche owner!

Vey nice car you have got, it's a stunner. Hope you enjoy it. At least you don't need to post pictures, Steve has already done that when he advertised it.

Hi and welcome to the forums.

Yup, as previously reported - nice car there.

You will soon be munching the miles. Don'tknow why you're nervous - it's only a car, same as any other. Just a bit quicker. And nicer looking. And with great lines. And a great heritage. And some great people.
Oh, go enjoy.

Enjoy the ride.
