as per title really - don't like the idle - doesn't exactly sound 'sweet'. Rev's fluctuate - more like a hiccough really, but sometimes seems slow to drop from 2000rpm, also occassionally feel the car 'hunting' when you back off the 'loud' pedal - though this seems to have improved with me using the car more. Also sometimes it will start immediately and ranges up to what seems like a long time (worse with a new passenger in car!), maybe up to 4 seconds.
background on car:
battery very recently changed - it is proper spec bosch battery.
starter motor turns the engine at what sounds like a decent speed
plugs changed
plug leads changed to splitfire
new coil lead
new dizzy cap and rotor arm
earth leads from battery to chassis removed and cleaned, to starter motor, and from chassis to engine
battery charges nicely (13.5volts) according to volt gauge on car
new bosch idle control valve
vacuum tubing has been replaced
new fuel filter and fuel lines

would it be worth removing the injectors and getting them tested and cleaned?
DME?
crank angle sensors (the 2 at the top of the clutch housing)?

any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated
cheers
Mark

If it were mine I'd put it on the dyno & check the fueling. Should cost about £50 to £100 for a diagnostic. But you need somebody that understands these cars & knows what there doing. A new AFM will cost you £150 so if it's something else like a vacuum leak say. Or the fuel pressure reg'. You don't want to waste your money. You don't say where your based.
