The old 44 has gone away for a new clutch (at long last) the rubber doughnut had completely destroyed it’s self, the garage have reported back that it has come apart with no problems :D but it needs a new clutch fork as the old one is showing signs of wear :( , the good new news is the bearings in the drive tube are in good health :D :D , just got to wait a few more days to get it back :bounce:

Is that the house in the background that you're re-mortgaging to pay for it?

Yep it's costing a few notes, it's being sorted by Autofarm near Oxford, they have their own pickup truck.

I will be needing mine doing soon - 199000 and still on the original clutch is amazing I think - and when it's up there (on ramps) being done I'll also have the starter motor taken off and refurbished at the same time. Could be something worth considering doing.

Good luck with it and hope it doesn't break the bank - I notice the parts have gone up considerably over the last year or two.

Looks like my car will be ready tomorrow :D :D , the garage called to say that they can't find a replacement clutch fork, the old one has a bit more life left in it so thats gone back in.

Has anyone had to replace their clutch fork :?:

The black 944S on The Garage on Discovery channel had a bent fork IIRC

Got the 44 back yesterday

Great to be back behind the wheel (at speed, within reason :D ) after being off the road for eight months, don’t time fly.
The garage has done a great job, very clean and tidy. I have attached some photos and look how many bolts they have saved
The first photo shows what’s left of the rubber doughnut

Nice one Pete.

Should go even faster with all those bolts they've left out.
