I have recently purchased a 944, for some reason it won't start, it does turn over, but will not start, I don't even have a spark from the new coil, the distributor and rotor look tired and will be renewed. Someone has sugested that the crankshaft sensor may need replacing. any sugestions would be greatly appreciated |

Does the rev counter bounce when it is turning over? If not then it is either crank sensors or DME. |

I would try cleaning the 2 Plug terminals at the back of the engine bay for the crankshaft/reference sensors, i have just ordered new senors for an intermittant non start/cutting out problem on my car, wiggling the connectors on my car seems to get the car running o.k for a while. |

The non-starting problem I had was the dirty plug on the air flow meter - the metal box front nearside of the engine. Took it off and cleaned it and had no problems since. |
