When I have the tension on my belt checked after 1000 miles ( 2000-2500 miles it says in the porsche service card), does this mean a lot of work and is it normally included in the cost of the belt change or should I budget for another bill. Also is the tension check time related as I am unlikely to do 1000 miles this year |

Different indies do slightly different things but. Yes it is time related. The belts stretch under tension. Mine will be checked after 6 weeks. Though I probably will have done around 2000 miles by then. I would suggest you use it a bit more to settle it down & see all is ok. You should take it steady until the belts have been checked! They do stretch quite a bit. Cover has to come off to check them but takes about 20 minutes. I don't pay for that but it depends where you take it. |

I was charged 1/2 hr labour for mine. Also despite being a short job it needs to be left for a couple of hours for the engine to cool. |
