Hey there! I'm in the process of installing some really nice black Porsche Logo cloth seats into my 86 Lux, to replace the grey pinstripe flannel that had sadly gone beyond economic repair. They're from a late left hook 968. Front ones were easy, and I've got the lower part of the rears in, but I'm having trouble with the folding top section. My original seats were the one piece job, and these are split folders. The chap from the breakers where I got them said it would be fine, and gave me a plastic joining piece which he said would do the job. Having attempted to put them in, I can see where it goes, but it doesn't actually provide any structural support in the centre (where obviously something else is needed). Does anyone know if this non-split to split conversion is actually possible? I sure hope it is cause the seats are tip top and look great in the car! Any advice much appreciated! Cheers, sCam |

Update : There's a chap selling some seats on eBay who mentions this issue. He seems to suggest that this plastic centre clamp should bolt into the body. He mentions all 944s and 968s should have holes to facilitate this. Problem is, mine doesn't seem to have these holes. Any suggestions? Here's the entry on eBay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PORSCHE-924-944-9 ... 677wt_1167 Cheers, sCam |
